What the Screening Tells You
- Confirmation of Pregnancy. Sometimes at-home tests can yield false positives.
- Pregnancy Location. An ultrasound can help determine whether the pregnancy is developing in the uterus. A pregnancy located outside the uterus, called an ectopic pregnancy, requires immediate medical attention and cannot be treated by abortion medications.
- How Far Along You Are. A limited ultrasound can determine the gestational age of your pregnancy, which may affect the options available to you since Florida does not allow abortion past 6 weeks, counted from your last period.
- Whether you have untreated STIs. An untreated STI can increase the risk of abortion complications.
- All available pregnancy options. Whether you've already made a decision or are still exploring your next steps, you can ask questions, learn about available pregnancy options, and discover resources and support that may be available to you.
Abortion Information in Florida
If you are 6 weeks pregnant or less, there are two abortion methods currently available in Florida: medical abortions (the abortion pill) and surgical abortion procedures.
Medical abortions typically involve two medications taken separately. The first pill blocks the hormone progesterone, which is necessary for the pregnancy to continue. The second pill helps the body expel the pregnancy.
Surgical abortions are performed in a clinical setting by trained medical professionals.

How much does a visit cost?
Nothing. All of our services are completely free, no insurance needed.
Do I need an appointment?
We recommend calling or texting first as appointments fill up fast, but walk-ins are also accepted.
Do you perform or refer for abortion?
No. We offer free abortion pre-screenings, but as a limited-scope medical clinic we do not perform or refer for abortions.
Is there anything I have to decide today?
You don't have to decide anything today. The pre-screening appointment allows you to slow down and get accurate information to make an informed decision. You do not have to decide anything at the appointment.
What should I bring?
A photo ID. That's it. No insurance card needed.
How long does the visit take?
About an hour which includes the pregnancy test, ultrasound if the pregnancy test is positive, STI test if applicable, and confidential pregnancy options consultation.
Can I bring someone with me?
Absolutely. You are welcome to bring someone you trust to your appointment. Your partner or support person is welcome to wait in our lobby and can join you in the room once you have had time to speak with our staff privately.
Who does the ultrasound?
A registered nurse, RN, or a Sonographer, RDMS, will perform the scan.
Who oversees the medical care?
Our dedicated staff includes a Medical Director (MD), Registered Nurses (RNs) to guide your health assessments, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS) to perform your specialized ultrasounds, and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) to support your overall well-being.
Is what I tell you confidential?
Your privacy matters. All of our services are confidential and provided in accordance with HIPAA privacy standards. We protect your personal health information and do not share it without your consent, except as required by law. You are never required to disclose information you're uncomfortable sharing with us.
Can I come if I am under 18?
Yes. We provide services to minors, and your visit is confidential. Our team follows privacy guidelines to protect your personal information and will discuss any applicable confidentiality policies with you during your appointment.
